Peixoto wants Gil Vicente to be "organized and intense"

Gil Vicente coach César Peixoto said this Thursday that he wants a team with “organization, intensity and aggressiveness” for Friday's reception to Moreirense, in a match of the fourth round of the Portuguese I League.
" The first principles must be organization, intensity, and aggressiveness, and only then comes quality . If we reverse this process, we'll have problems, because we'll be facing good players and a good team," the coach said at a press conference previewing the opening match of the round.
César Peixoto recalled the draw (0-0) in Famalicão, in the last round, highlighting that the team “grew a lot with the ball” and showed defensive solidity, but stressed that there are still aspects to improve.
"It was a good game, and we deserved more than a point. The important thing was the team's growth, especially with the ball. We performed at a high level, and of course there are still things to improve, but we're improving," he said.
The Gil Vicente coach highlighted the value of the opponent, who has three wins in as many matches, remembering that, due to his time at Moreirense last season, he knows the players he will face well.
"I know their quality, how they've known each other for years, and how they compete, individually and collectively. Therefore, we'll have to maintain consistency and be focused and competitive for 90 minutes. We can't let up in any way," he said.
Regarding strategy, the "galos" coach refused to focus solely on the opponent's offensive incidents, namely on striker Guilherme Schettine, the top scorer in the I Liga, who has scored in all of the "canegos"' games in this start of the championship, a total of four goals, arguing that only an effective collective response will be enough.
"In our defensive organization, we have to understand Moreirense's strengths and weaknesses. Guilherme is in good form, unfortunately for us and our opponents, but I'm not a fan of man-to-man marking," he shared.
Regarding the squad, César Peixoto was satisfied with the group available, despite some absences, especially due to injury, but stated that he does not foresee any major changes to the group at this late stage of the transfer window.
"There won't be many changes. I'm very happy with the squad. Of course, you never know if opportunities will arise, whether to come in or leave, but I'd say the group is practically complete at this stage. We have to focus on what we have," he stressed.
For this game against Moreirense, the coach will still be without the injured Bamba, Tidjany Touré and Carlos Eduardo.
Gil Vicente, seventh placed, with four points, hosts Moreirense, third, with nine, at the Cidade de Barcelos Stadium, on Friday, at 8:15 pm, in a game that will be refereed by António Nobre, from the Leiria Football Association.
